Last Change IPA by Weyerbacher brewery is a a great IPA with tons of great hop flavors exploding from aroma to flavor from the Apollo hops, Centennial, Cascade, Columbus to Simcoe hops. Personally I am not a big fan of Weyerbacher based on trying many of their beers as everyone’s tastes are a bit different but Last Change IPA by Weyerbacher brewery is absolutely amazing and a great go to brew for any hophead. From the smoothness of the beer to the grapefruit aromas and flavors plus the nice piney and citrus notes it is simply a great craft brew and at only a 5.9% ABV with the 60 IBU this can be a session for people with a higher tolerance for alcohol in the slightly higher ABV brews. First you must know that Weyerbacher brewery makes outstanding brews but Last Chance is just that for many homeless dogs and cats. Yes, you heard that correctly as you can check it out at this link where they take their profits and donate a considerable chunk to help homeless dogs and cats with almost $100k being donated as of this review. It really makes me just want to run out and grab another 6 pack knowing that I will enjoy a great tasting IPA and be helping out a great cause all at the same time.
Miss Bliss by Magic Hat Brewing Company is “Wry Ale with Spices” according to Magic Hat and it is a very nice and mild craft beer made with rye and caramel malts with just the right amounts of coriander and orange peel. This is a very sessionable ale at 4.5% ABV with just a hint of bitter at 20 IBU from the always smooth Hallertau hops, all with a nice malt backbone. The Miss Bliss by Magic Hat Brewing Company is currently only available in the Night of the Living Dead Variety Packs from Magic Hat which also includes: Note Quite Pale Ale #9; Fall Seasonal Wilhelm Scream Pumpkin Ale; 1st Beer We (they) Ever Brewed Magic Hat Ale (Irish style red); and of course Miss Bliss Wry Ale with Spices.
Harvest Special Ale from Southern Tier Brewing Company is one of the best fall beers to try this fall as you can see it pours a deep copper color with an amazing take on a classic English style extra special bitter brew. The seasonal Harvest Special Ale from Southern Tier Brewing Company has a nice head on it and an even more amazing aroma of deep grapefruit and hints of caramel with very subtle spices. Imagine blending a moderate pale ale, a great Oktoberfest while smelling hints of fresh grainy bread and you would have the seasonal Harvest Special Ale from Southern Tier Brewing Company. Southern Tier has very high standards as you will take notice to with many of their great craft beers and this seasonal harvest classic English style extra special bitter is no exception. This beautiful beer comes in at 6.7% ABV using 4 hops and only 2 malts with a nice carbonation and aromas of caramel, pine resin, and pleasant grassy hints all while enjoying the wonderful tastes of grapefruit and hints of spice.
Pumpkinfest by Terrapin Beer Company has to be one, if not the best pumpkin beers I’ve had so far this season which I must say it feels like the season has come really early this year. Pumpkinfest by Terrapin Beer Company pours an almost reddish brown color with the perfect head as you can see in the photo. Pumpkinfest by Terrapin Beer Company comes in at a nice sessionable 5.5% ABV with a balancing 23 IBU with a nice compliment of the right malts and subtle hops but is topped out with cinnamon, ginger, allspice, cloves and of course a ton of real pumpkin. Although there are a lot more pumpkin beers to try this season I must say the Pumpkinfest by Terrapin Beer Company really was absolutely amazing, easily living up to Terrapin’s high standards of producing many amazing craft beers. If you only try one pumpkin beer this season and can get your hands on a Terrapin, this wold be one of the best pumpkin beers you can try this season.
